On Monday 23. November 2026 the Rotary Club of Pattaya will organise a mega event, the PATTAYA INTERNATIONAL PEACE CONFERENCE, at the state of the art convention center, PEACH (Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall) at the five star Royal Cliff Beach Resort.
The city of Pattaya is best known for its “colorful” tourist entertainment scene, founded as an R&R destination of the American GIs during the Vietnam war.
However the more significant truth about the place is related to peace and coexistence. In an area of 42 square kilometers the inhabitants consist of Thai people from every province of the Kingdom but moreover of foreign residents from every corner of the earth.
Contrary to the rest of the world, where conflict, war and hostilities is the order of the day, being religious, political, national, ethnic and so on, here in Pattaya everyone accept and respect each other’s differences and live together in peace and harmony. The city should be an example to the rest of the planet of peace and coexistence.

Twenty years ago, 23. February 2006, the Rotary Club of Pattaya in cooperation with the public administration of Pattaya had the city recognized by Rotary International as the first “Peace City” of Thailand, and a beautiful black granite monument was erected on what is called the Buddha Hill of the town.
Every year projects and activities is organized to focus especially the young generation of the importance of PEACE, in the mind, in the family, in the community and in the world.
